I've been auditioning narrators for my audio book, and I keep thinking that I've done sound and audio work for years now, have produced my own radio show, and have spent years doing podcasts of various kinds.
Frankly, I've not been 100% happy with any of the auditions, though I've made a few offers. I've already set up some new studio equipment, and am working on recording parts of the book myself, especially the free chapters. This way, I can test out narrating the book myself.
I'll listen to a few more auditions, but I think I'm going to move forward. I'm already working on my weekly podcasts, so I'll be doing this work anyways. I might as well get my own book in my own voice.
