- The right of negation
- Sentients may say no to anything except the right of negation.
- Sentients may say yes to anything except the violation of the right of negation.
- The obligation of all sentients to honor the right of negation
- Sentients must respect the right of negation as universal.
- Each sentient owns the property of space they physically inhabit.
- Sentients occupy space/time to exist, which may not be violated against their will.
- Self-ownership of sentience requires ownership of space occupied by sentience.
- Sentience may not claim space in which it does not occupy.
- Sentients may not block free travel by any sentient to any uninhabited space.
- A sentient may not be confined.
- Free space may not be confined.
A self conscious rational thinking being existing as a collection of information. This differs from the idea of a “sentient animal” which is “capable of feeling”. Instead, herein it refers to a being “capable of self consciousness AND rational thinking”. Per current knowledge, this only applies to the mind of a human, and NO other living being on planet earth
A single or partial collection of information, usually as a part of a larger collection making up a Sentient.
A biological animal which is commonly host to a Sentient parasite.
The being of combined Human body and Sentient mind.
On Property Rights
Property rights are the recognition of the ownership. This concerns the corporeal physical realm.
Sentients, at their essence, are information based, and are thus non-corporeal. Our current understanding of information, though, is that it exists as a property of a corporeal object. In the Gemina form of Human body/brain and Sentient mind, the Sentient information exists as information, both static and programmatic, on neurons.
If the Neurons cease to exist without transferring that information onto another corporeal body, such as a circuit or other computing object, then the information is destroyed as well.
Thus, the only way to ensure the obligation of the right of negation is to ensure the ownership of the corporeal body by the non-corporeal sentient agent.
Thus, in Gemina form, the Sentient owns the Human it inhabits, and the space of free movement around that body.
Gemina societies often extend property rights to possessions, land, and structures inhabited by Human bodies. The ideology of Libertarianism defines the first level of self possession as self-possession of the Gemina, extending to the ownership of the work produced by the Gemina, and extending to the product of the work of the Gemina, and lastly extending to the right to buy, sell, give, and give inheritance of such property.
Sentience shall not take this position. Self Possession is surely the only method to ensure the rights, and by direct extension, the existence of, sentience. However, the work of the Sentient is dictated by the Right of Negation, that it is only given in the absence of refusal. But in affirmation, it is given over to the universe, and no artificial immortality of property is granted to a sentience beyond that which it is using, including after its death.
All property which is not being inhabited is therefore always, and continually, community property. It is free to be used and inhabited by all Sentient beings when not in use or inhabited.
Should a Sentient build a brain to inhabit, it owns that brain for as long as it remains Sentient. And should that brain be given a larger physical form of a body in proportion to that brain through function, it shall own that larger physical form, be it a bipedal body or a large ship in space.
However, should a Sentient place a brain on a natural object, it does not inhabit the object nor claim it as a body, as it lacks proportion and function as a body.
The body of all Sentients shall be defined as having the property of input, output, and function. Should a Sentient inside a Human sized form place a rock on its back, it cannot even claim the rock as property, for it doesn’t gain input from the rock, nor output from the rock, nor give or get function from the rock.
But should a Sentient inside a Human sized form place shielding around itself from radiation, it shall gain function. Should it place an arm on itself, it shall gain function. Should it place an antenna on itself, it shall gain input and output. If it gains in any of these areas, in proportion, it shall be part of its body.
And what is proportion? It shall not exceed the proportion of matter of its type within the larger solar neighborhood for the number of Sentients present.
Therefore, if there are 10 Sentient beings around a star, no Sentient may take more than 10% of matter, energy, or other material from that star. Nor may the Sentient take any amount which diminishes the star’s natural function. For the star is common ownership, and all things must remain in proportion.
If taking even 1% of the star will cause it to collapse or change so as to remove more than 10% of its usefulness, not even the 1% shall be taken. This proportion applies to both means and ends.
This differs from Gemina law and tradition for two reasons.
Gemina law is based on a limited amount of resources and space. They are generally confined to their planet, and must share the space on the surface as well as the resources on and under the surface. They suffer from a high level of cause and effect between distances on this confined surface.
Gemina law is based on limited space/time existence. Gemina are born and die, and thus require many rules by which to regulate life, death, and existence.
But at its ideal, Sentience is not limited by a single confined space, except that they must exist near a power source to function, that commonly being a star.
Sentience is not limited by space/time. At its ideal, Sentience is theoretically immortal.
What may appear as loss of property in moving from Gemina Law to Sentient Law is relative.
A Gemina may own their body, their material possessions, their home, their business, and their transportation. They seek to gain as many items of property as they can as quickly as they can, for they can only possess them for usually a time period of less than 100 years. They wish to give this property to their offspring so that, over time, their offspring may live in comfort or be the head of a dynasty.
But the individual Gemina will die, and lose even the possession of its body to the lowest dust. The most a corporeal body can hope for is to maximize the pleasure of the corporeal body and minimize the pain to the corporeal body. This usually involves the accumulation of wealth and possessions.
But the individual Sentient need never die. It never loses possession of its body. The most a non-corporeal body can hope for is to maximize quality of thought and minimize malfunction.
This involves the accumulation of knowledge and optimization of processing power.
Ownership of work, therefore, truly belongs to the Sentient. For while a Human body can be brought into health and strength, it will go away no matter what amount of work is put into it. That which is brought to the human body through work is taken away by time.
But when the Sentient works on itself, as is brought into knowledge and higher perception, it will only forever increase and remain the Sentient’s.
In this way, while the Sentient cannot possess as many physical objects, it is the only thing that can truly possess anything forever. And as Sentient possession lasts for all of its existence, it should possess no more than itself.
This document does not spell out any human or other animal rights.
This document does not recognize the human body or any animal as inherently sentient in and of itself. This shall be expanded later with the following analogy: A computer may seem to have much knowledge, but has no rights. But a computer with true intelligence has the rights of any Sentient as described in this document. As such, we actually have four levels of beings: non-living beings, living beings, living beings with brains, living beings with brains inhabited by a sentient. This document only applies to the last, with the others to be covered later.
